What I Do Differently
Single Booking
My Standard appointments are reserved for one guest only
Stain Removal
Nobody wants to walk around with hair color stains on their skin. I take pride in preventing and removing color stains effectively so you can get back to your busy schedule without interruptions.
Quicker Color Processing
I use a steamer to process many of my colors, especially traditional gray coverage. This brings processing time down to 20 minutes, and helps to prevent color fading between appointments
Gray Blending
Gray coverage has evolved in recent years and many clients now want to blend or camouflage their gray hairs. I know multiple ways to create a gray blend depending on your desired color and percentage of gray
Multi-Tonal Highlights
Not everyone wants to be the blondest blonde. I often use two different formulas in my foil appointments to create warmth and softness, or to maintain a brunette overall look with some brighter pops

Hi, I'm Julia
I am an independent hair stylist in Lexington MA, outside of Boston. I specialize in hair color and cutting, with an emphasis on gray hair blending.

I’ve always had thick hair, so I understand the nerves of walking into a new salon wondering how the stylist will react. I've seen densities from one end of the spectrum to the other, so I'm not intimidated by thick or difficult hair. As a working mom, I know how hard it is to make time for self care. My studio suite salon is the perfect place to work from “home” so when the day is done you have more time for the things that matter most to you.

I have more than 15 years experience behind the chair. Early on, I started doing gray blending for clients very organically. When one of my brunette highlight clients developed a light patch at her temples we added lowlights in that area to match her natural color. The result was so effective that I now have clients across southern New England who trust me to camouflage their gray hair.

Before I opened my own studio, I spent most of my career working on the first block of Newbury St, so my work is reminiscent of my time there - chic and polished without being overdone. I prioritize the little details like stain removal, protecting your clothes, and creating a comfortable environment.

When I'm not at the salon you can usually find me relaxing at home with my family. We like to watch TV, cook, and play games together. Our home is a fixer-upper so we always have an ongoing reno project. My husband puts up the new drywall, then I plaster and paint. Friends and I have a casual book club with a new book every month. I much prefer a paper book to an e reader, but audio books and podcasts keep me company when I'm on the go.
