Thick Hair

I've had thick frizzy hair my whole life, so I deeply understand the fears you have with a new stylist. I've had the triangle haircut and the shelf layer. I've had splotchy color and too many botched blowouts to count. My clients love that I take the time to blend their cuts properly and they rave that my blowouts last for days. I know how to reduce bulk and volume to flatter whatever hairstyle you're looking for. I love to create bobs and shoulder length cuts using careful layering and texturizing

Fine Hair

Clients with fine hair usually want to see as much fullness as possible. There's a range of different cuts from short to long that we can work with, depending on your density. Blunt lines create maximum thickness, but I can also carefully layer your hair to help with root volume and movement. I will also skim off split ends as they form to allow as much growth as possible

Curly Hair

I love working with curly hair. I didn't realize I had curls until I was an adult, so I understand the struggle of developing a curly routine for the first time. I like to use dry cutting for big changes and wet cutting for small trims, which prevents removing too much length. A common problem for curly clients is inconsistent curl pattern in different areas. I know cutting techniques that balance the lengths between tight and loose sections of hair, so your haircut wont change shape after your hair is styled

Gray Hair

It's the 21st century, and this is not your grandmothers gray hair. You don't have to have flat opaque gray coverage anymore (although you can if you really want that!) Demi permanent blending or using foils to camouflage gray hairs are among my most requested solutions.

I've also worked with clients who are ready to stop coloring. When my mom decided to go gray my wedding was only a few months away. I sat her down and did a 7 hour transformation so she wouldn't have a skunk line in my wedding photos. There's many ways to transition to natural gray hair and which one is best for you will depend on your gray patterns, the color you've been doing, your timeline, and your budget.

Brunettes

There's nothing a New England Brunette hates more than seeing unwanted red or gold tones in her hair. I have an arsenal of color techniques to use to fight warmth. When we consult, I'll know if you need a neutralizing permanent formula, or a demi-permanent technique that exposes no undertones. Some of my clients like to have a toner at every touch up, but many don't. They love how dimensional and natural their color looks over time. I only tone when it's necessary to create the desired end result

Blondes

Whether it's warm or cool, your blonde is unique to you. I know when it's important to use a base color with foils and when you need to leave depth between your highlights. I'll help you understand how to tailor your at home routine to keep your color the tone you want and keep your hair healthy and strong

Many of my blonde clients have come to me with damaged hair that had been over-highlighted by previous stylists. I focus on keeping the hair healthy by not overlapping lightener, and choosing other lightening products when appropriate. I recommend cutting off damaged hair and continuing to trim split ends as the quickest way back to healthy hair

Red Heads

Red is probably the color with the largest variation. I've worked with many redheads and I know how to formulate differently for natural looking strawberry, bright copper red, firey fashion colors, or deep violet tones. My clients trust me to match the shade they're asking for. With my true to tone formulas, many of my red clients go multiple appointments without needing to refresh their ends

I recieved an amazing personalized cut from Julia. She was able to address some individualized needs of mine that had never been addressed in all the years I've been getting haircuts. I was very happy with my hair and would eagerly return in the future
